HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION ACT 1981

An Act relating to human rights

WHEREAS it is desirable that the laws of the Commonwealth and the conduct of
persons administering those laws should conform with the provisions of the
International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the Declaration of the
Rights of the Child, the Declaration on the Rights of Mentally Retarded
Persons and the Declaration on the Rights of Disabled Persons and other
international instruments relating to human rights and freedoms:

BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the Queen, and the Senate and the House of
Representatives of the Commonwealth of Australia, as follows:

PART I - PRELIMINARY Short title
1. This Act may be cited as the HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION ACT 1981.
