HUMAN RIGHTS AND EQUAL OPPORTUNITY COMMISSION ACT 1986 No. 125 of 1986 - SECT 43

43. (1) The staff necessary to assist the Commission shall be persons
appointed or employed under the Public Service Act 1922.

(2) The Human Rights Commissioner has all the powers of, or exercisable by, a
Secretary under the Public Service Act 1922 so far as those powers relate to
the branch of the Australian Public Service comprising the staff referred to
in sub-section (1) as if that branch were a separate Department of the
Australian Public Service.
