Health Legislation Amendment Act 1983 No. 54 of 1983 - SECT 39

39. After section 30 of the Principal Act the following section is inserted:
Categorization of private hospitals

''31. (1) The Minister may, by order in writing published in the Gazette ,
specify categories of private hospital for the purposes of this Part and, in
relation to each category, an amount of daily bed payment.

''(2) An order under sub-section (1) takes effect at the beginning of the day
on which it is published in the Gazette.

''(3) The Minister shall not exercise his powers under sub-section (1) unless
he has consulted with the Minister for Health for each non-participating State
and has had regard to any views of that other Minister expressed in the course
of that consultation.''.
