HEALTH INSURANCE AMENDMENT ACT 1991 No. 171 of 1991 - SECT 14

Payments by the Commonwealth
14. Section 125 of the Principal Act has effect:

   (a)  for the purpose of enabling payments (including retrospective
        payments) of increased medicare benefits in respect of professional
        services for which medical expenses were incurred during the year
        commencing on 1 January 1991; and

   (b)  for the purpose of making additional payments to practitioners under
        section 20C of that Act as it applies in respect of prescribed GP
        services rendered during the period from1 December 1991 to 31 December
        1991; and

   (c)  for the purpose of making payments by way of refund under section 20D
        of that Act as it applies in respect of prescribed GP services
        rendered during the period from 1 December 1991 to 31 December 1991;
        as if the reference in subsection (1) of that section to amounts
        payable under Part II of that Act included a reference to any amounts
        payable by virtue of the operation of sections 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13 of
        this Act.
