FOREIGN TAKEOVERS AMENDMENT ACT 1989 No. 14 of 1989 - SECT 32

32. (1) Subject to subsection (2), the amendments made by this Act do not
apply in relation to acquisitions of any thing occurring before the
commencement of this Act.

(2) In addition to its application apart from this subsection, subsection 21A
(4) of the amended Act applies in relation to acquisitions, after 30 October
1987 and before the commencement of this Act, of what would be interests in
Australian urban land by foreign persons if:

   (a)  section 5A of the amended Act were omitted; and

   (b)  paragraph 12A (1) (c) of the amended Act did not apply to interests as
        licensee.
(3) In this section, "amended Act" means the Principal Act as amended by this
Act.
