EMPLOYMENT SERVICES ACT 1994 No. 176 of 1994 - SECT 60
Claims for payments-false or misleading statements
False statements not to be made
60.(1) A person must not make a false statement to a person who is exercising
powers or performing functions under, or in connection with, subsection 59(2).
Note: Subsection 59(2) deals with claims for payments.
Offence
(2) A person who intentionally or recklessly contravenes subsection (1) is
guilty of an offence punishable on conviction by imprisonment for a term not
exceeding 12 months.
Definition
(3) In this section:
"false statement" means a statement (whether made orally, in a document or in
any other way) that:
(a) is false or misleading in a material particular; or
(b) omits any matter or thing without which the statement is misleading in
a material particular.
