EVIDENCE ACT 1995 No. 2 of 1995 - SECT 3

3. (1) Expressions used in this Act (or in a particular provision of this Act)
that are defined in the Dictionary at the end of this Act have the meanings
given to them in the Dictionary. Note: Some expressions used in this Act are
defined in the Acts Interpretation Act 1901, and have the meanings given to
them in that Act.

(2) Notes included in this Act are explanatory notes and do not form part of
this Act.

(3) Definitions in this Act of expressions used in this Act apply to its
construction except insofar as the context or subject matter otherwise
indicates or requires. Note: Subsection (3) does not appear in section 3 of
the NSW Act, because it is covered by section 6 of the Interpretation Act 1987
of New South Wales.
