A member is absent on defence service during:

(a)

any period during which the member is travelling from his or her residence to the place at which he or she is required to report for defence service; and

(b)

any period while he or she is rendering defence service; and

(c)

the period (if any) after he or she has ceased to render that service until he or she resumes work, or is reinstated in employment, under Part 5.
