DARWIN RECONSTRUCTION ACT 1975 No. 2 of 1975 - SECT 6

Functions.
6. The functions of the Commission are, during the prescribed period and
subject to and in accordance with this Act and the regulations-

   (a)  to assist the Australian Government in determining the desirable
        extent, nature and purposes of the use and development of the
        Darwin Area;

   (b)  to carry out planning in relation to development, construction and
        land use in the Darwin Area in accordance with any determinations of
        the Australian Government in respect of matters referred to in
        paragraph (a), and recommend to the Minister general planning and
        development schemes for the Darwin Area;

   (c)  to carry out, and to supervise, control and co-operate in the carrying
        out by other authorities and persons of, development and construction
        in the Darwin Area;

   (d)  to provide, and to arrange, co-ordinate and control the provision of,
        works, services, facilities and public utilities in the Darwin Area;

   (e)  to furnish to the Australian Government, through the Minister, advice
        with respect to matters relating to the expenditure of public and
        private moneys in and in connexion with development and construction
        in the Darwin Area and the co-ordination of that expenditure and with
        respect to other matters related to the functions of the Commission;

   (f)  to formulate proposals for the making of regulations under this Act;
        and

   (g)  such other functions in relation to Darwin and the Darwin Area as are
        conferred on it by this Act or the regulations.
