51. After section 111 of the Principal Act the following section is inserted:
Proceedings by way of dealing with a charge

"111A. (1) A summary authority may, if he thinks it desirable to do so, hear
evidence in relation to a charge for the purpose of determining, under section
109, 110 or 111, the manner in which the charge is to be dealt with, but, if
he does so, nothing in this sub-section precludes him from trying the charge.

"(2) Without limiting the generality of sub-section 146 (2), regulations made
by virtue of that sub-section may make provision for and in relation to the
admissibility, in proceedings before a service tribunal (including proceedings
by way of trying a charge), of evidence adduced in proceedings before a
summary authority for the purpose referred to in sub-section (1).".
