DEFENCE FORCE RETIREMENT AND DEATH BENEFITS ACT 1973 No. 81 of 1973 - SECT 4

4. For the purposes of this Act, the retiring age for the rank held by a
member of the Defence Force at any time is-

   (a)  in the case of a member who is a member of the Permanent Forces-the
        age for compulsory retirement of the member ascertained in accordance
        with, or in accordance with regulations under, the Naval Defence Act
        1910-1971, the Defence Act 1903-1970 or the Air Force Act 1923-1965;
        or

   (b)  in the case of a member who is not a member of the
        Permanent Forces-the age for compulsory retirement, as ascertained in
        accordance with paragraph (a), of a member of the same rank and branch
        who is a member of the Permanent Forces.
