The Parliament of Australia enacts:

CUSTOMS TARIFF AMENDMENT ACT (NO. 4) 1997 No. 168 of 1997

 SECT 1  Short title

        This Act may be cited as the Customs Tariff Amendment Act (No. 4)
1997.

 SECT 2  Commencement

        This Act commences immediately after the commencement of the Customs
Tariff (Fuel Rates Amendments) Act 1997.

 SECT 3  Schedule(s)

        Each Act that is specified in a Schedule to this Act is amended or repealed
as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other
item in a Schedule to this Act has effect according to its terms.

 Application
The amendments made by this Act apply in respect of goods:
    (a)    that fall to a subheading of Chapter 27 of Schedule 3 to the
Customs Tariff Act 1995 as amended by this Act that is referred to in an
item of this Schedule; and
    (b)    that are entered for home consumption on or after the commencement of this
Act.
