COMPLAINTS (AUSTRALIAN FEDERAL POLICE) ACT 1981 No. 21 of 1981 - SECT 4

Meaning of action taken by a member
4. In this Act, unless the contrary intention appears, a reference to action
that is taken by a member shall be construed as a reference to action that a
member takes or purports to take, whether within or outside Australia -

   (a)  by virtue of his being a member; or

   (b)  in the exercise of powers, or the performance of functions, conferred
        on him in his capacity as a member by this Act or by another law,
        whether or not the taking of the action is within, or is incidental to
        the performance of, his duties.
