CANNED FRUITS MARKETING ACT 1979 No. 160 of 1979 - SECT 8

8. (1) Where, in respect of a season, there is an equalization market for the
purpose of the disposal of canned fruits of a particular kind or of particular
kinds, the Corporation may, in respect of that season, by notice published in
the Gazette, fix rates of premium to be paid by the Corporation in respect of
canned fruits of that kind or of those kinds that are in light syrup, heavy
syrup, extra-heavy syrup or any other medium, having regard to the additional
costs incurred in producing those canned fruits in the medium concerned.

(2) A premium the rate of which is fixed under sub-section (1) is payable in
respect of canned fruits of the relevant kind that are disposed of by the
Corporation during the season in respect of which the rate is fixed (whether
the canned fruits are acquired by the Corporation during that season or at an
earlier time).
