CANNED FRUITS MARKETING ACT 1979 No. 160 of 1979 - SECT 28

Disclosure of interests by members
28. (1) A member who has a direct or indirect pecuniary interest in a matter
being considered or about to be considered by the Corporation, otherwise than
as a member of, and in common with the other members of, an incorporated
company which consists of more than 25 persons and of which he is not a
director, shall, as soon as possible after the relevant facts have come to his
knowledge, disclose the nature of his interest at a meeting of the
Corporation.

(2) A disclosure under sub-section (1) shall be recorded in the minutes of the
meeting of the Corporation.

(3) Where a matter in respect of which a disclosure has been made to the
Corporation by a member under sub-section (1) is being considered, or is about
to be considered, at a meeting of the Corporation, then, except by leave of
the members present at the meeting who do not have any direct or indirect
pecuniary interest in the matter, the member-

   (a)  shall not take part in any deliberation or decision of the Corporation
        with respect to the matter; and

   (b)  shall be disregarded for the purpose of constituting a quorum of the
        Corporation for any such deliberation or decision.
(4) In this section, ''member'' includes an acting Chairman.
