Conciliation and Arbitration Amendment Act (No. 2) 1983 No. 115 of 1983 - SECT 38

38. Section 170 of the Principal Act is amended-

   (a)  by inserting in sub-section (1) ''or a Deputy Industrial
Registrar'' after ''Registrar'';

   (b)  by omitting sub-section (3) and substituting the following
        sub-sections:

''(3) The regulations may make provision with respect to the times at which,
and the manner in which, requests may be made under this section.

''(3A) The limitations imposed by paragraph 198 (1) (e) on the penalties that
may be prescribed by the regulations do not prevent regulations made for the
purposes of sub-section (3) from requiring a person to make a statutory
declaration.'';

   (c)  by inserting in sub-section (4) ''or Deputy Industrial
Registrar, as the case may be,'' after ''Registrar'';

   (d)  by inserting in sub-section (5) ''or Deputy Industrial
Registrar, as the case may be,'' after ''Registrar'' (first occurring); and

   (e)  by omitting from sub-section (5) ''a Deputy Industrial Registrar or
        other officer'' and substituting ''an officer''.
