CUSTOMS AMENDMENT (SECURITIES) ACT 1981 No. 67 of 1981 - SECT 3

Cancellation of bonds
3. (1) Section 45 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting sub-section (2)
and substituting the following sub-sections:



"(2) A security in respect of any duty that may be payable on goods under
section 8, 9, 10 or 11 of the Customs Tariff (Anti-Dumping) Act 1975 shall be
cancelled before the expiration of the prescribed period after the date of the
security.



"(3) In sub-section (2), 'prescribed period' means -

   (a)  in relation to a security in respect of any duty that may be payable
        on goods under section 8 or 9 of the Customs Tariff (Anti-Dumping) Act
        1975 - a period of 4 months or such longer period (not being a period
        exceeding 6 months) as is requested by the exporter of the goods
        concerned; or

   (b)  in any other case - a period of 4 months.".

(2) The amendment made by sub-section (1) does not apply to a security taken
before the commencement of this Act.
