AUSTRALIAN WOOL RESEARCH AND PROMOTION ORGANISATION ACT 1993 No. 63 of 1993 - SECT 39

Proceedings of the committee
39. (1) Subject to any written directions given to the committee by the
Minister, a selection committee may take such action as it thinks appropriate
to invite applications for nomination or otherwise to identify persons
suitable for nomination.

(2) In making a nomination or nominations, a selection committee must have
regard to the requirements of subsections 28(2), (5) and (6).

(3) A selection committee may regulate proceedings of the committee as it
thinks appropriate.

(4) Without limiting subsection (3), the presiding member may permit members
of a selection committee to participate in a particular meeting, or in all
meetings, of the committee:

   (a)  by telephone; or

   (b)  by closed-circuit television; or

   (c)  by any other means of communication.

(5) A member who participates in a meeting of a selection committee in
accordance with subsection (4) is taken to be present at the meeting.

(6) A question arising at a meeting of a selection committee is to be
determined by a majority of the votes of the members present and voting.

(7) The presiding member has a deliberative vote and, if there is an equality
of votes, also has a casting vote.
