ANTARCTIC TREATY (ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION) ACT 1980 No. 103 of 1980 - SECT 21
Furnishing information
21. (1) A person who, in the Antarctic, gathers, collects, injures or
otherwise interferes with any native plant or kills, takes, injures or
otherwise interferes with any native bird or native mammal, whether in
accordance with a permit or in accordance with an authority of another
Contracting Party or otherwise, shall, as soon as practicable thereafter, give
notice of his so doing to the Minister or an authorized officer in accordance
with the prescribed form or, if no form is prescribed, a form approved by the
Minister.
Penalty: $1,000 or imprisonment for 6 months, or both.
(2) In sub-section (1), "authorized officer" means a person designated by the
Minister, by notice published in the Gazette, for the purposes of that
sub-section.
