AUSTRALIAN TELECOMMUNICATIONS CORPORATION ACT 1989 No. 54 of 1989 - SECT 79

79. (1) The Managing Director shall be appointed by the Minister after the
Minister has received a recommendation from the Board.

(2) The Minister shall not appoint the Chairperson, the Deputy Chairperson or
a director referred to in paragraph 22 (d) as Managing Director.

(3) The appointment of a person as Managing Director is not invalid merely
because of a defect or irregularity in relation to the appointment.
