AUSTRALIAN SECURITY INTELLIGENCE ORGANIZATION AMENDMENT ACT 1986 No. 122 of 1986 - SECT 9

9. After section 17 of the Principal Act the following section is inserted:
Act not concerned with lawful dissent, &c.

"17A. This Act shall not limit the right of persons to engage in lawful
advocacy, protest or dissent and the exercise of that right shall not, by
itself, be regarded as prejudicial to security, and the functions of the
Organization shall be construed accordingly.".
