AUSTRALIAN SECURITY INTELLIGENCE ORGANIZATION ACT 1979 No. 113 of 1979 - SECT 73
Protection of members, barristers and witnesses
73. (1) A member, or a person other than a member exercising powers under
sub-section 70 (6), has, in the performance of his duties or the exercise of
his powers, the same protection and immunity as a Justice of the High Court.
(2) A barrister, solicitor or other person appearing before the Tribunal has
the same protection and immunity as a barrister has in appearing for a party
in proceedings in the High Court.
(3) Subject to this Act, a person summoned to attend or appearing before the
Tribunal as a witness has the same protection, and is, in addition to the
penalties provided by this Act, subject to the same liabilities, as a witness
in proceedings in the High Court.
