AUSTRALIAN SECURITY INTELLIGENCE ORGANIZATION ACT 1979 No. 113 of 1979 - SECT 43

43. (1) Subject to this Division, a presidential member holds office for such
period, not being more than 7 years, as is specified in the instrument of his
appointment, but is eligible for re-appointment.

(2) Where a presidential member who is a Judge referred to in section 42
ceases to be such a Judge, he ceases to hold office as a presidential member,
but is eligible for re-appointment.

(3) A person, other than a Judge referred to in section 42, appointed as a
presidential member shall be appointed either as full-time member or as a
part-time member.
