AUSTRALIAN SECURITY INTELLIGENCE ORGANIZATION ACT 1979 No. 113 of 1979 - SECT 13

13. (1) The Governor-General may terminate the appointment of the
Director-General by reason of physical or mental incapacity, mis-behaviour or
failure to comply with a provision of this Act.

(2) If the Director-General-

   (a)  absents himself from duty, except with the leave of the Minister, for
        14 consecutive days or for 28 days in any 12 months; or

   (b)  becomes bankrupt, applies to take the benefit of any law for the
        relief of bankrupt or insolvent debtors, compounds with his creditors
        or makes an assignment of his remuneration for their benefit, the
        Governor-General shall terminate his appointment.
