AUSTRALIAN SECURITIES COMMISSION ACT 1989 No. 90 of 1989 - SECT 10

10. (1) The Governor-General shall appoint as Chairperson of the Commission a
person who is, or is to be, a full-time member and may appoint as Deputy
Chairperson of the Commission a person (other than the Chairperson) who is, or
is to be, a full-time member.

(2) The Chairperson may be referred to as the Chairman or Chairwoman, as the
case requires, and the Deputy Chairperson may be referred to as the Deputy
Chairman or Deputy Chairwoman, as the case requires.
