ANTARCTIC (ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION) LEGISLATION AMENDMENT ACT 1992 No. 156 of 1992 - SECT 19

19.(1) Section 21 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting from
subsection (1) all words to and including "shall" and substituting the
following words and paragraphs: "A person who:

   (a)  in accordance with a permit or an authority of another Contracting
        Party:

        (i)    in the Antarctic gathers, collects, injures or otherwise
               interferes with any native plant; or

        (ii)   in the Antarctic kills, takes, injures or otherwiseinterferes
               with any native bird, native mammal or native invertebrate; or

        (iii)  enters, or carries on any other activity in, a specially
               protected area; or

   (b)  enters a site of special scientific interest or carries on any other
        activity on the site in accordance with the plan of management
        relating to the site; must".

(2) Section 21 of the Principal Act is amended:
(a) by omitting from subparagraph (1)(a)(iii) "a specially" and substitute

"an Antarctic specially";

   (b)  by omitting paragraph (1)(b).
