The Minister may, on application by or on behalf of a person, and in the circumstances specified in a Minister's determination, issue the person with a document of a kind specified in a Minister's determination, being a document issued for the purposes of travel.

Note: Convention travel documents, certificates of identity, documents of identity and provisional travel documents are examples of these kinds of documents.

Subsection (1) is subject to section 10.

An application for a travel-related document must be:

(a) made in the form approved by the Minister; and
(b) accompanied by the applicable fee (if any).
