AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL UNIVERSITY ACT 1991 No. 131 of 1991 - SECT 34

34. (1) The Council must appoint the Vice-Chancellor of the University.

(2) The Vice-Chancellor:

   (a)  is the chief executive officer of the University; and

   (b)  has such powers and duties as the Statutes prescribe or, subject to
        the Statutes, as the Council determines.

(3) Subject to the Statutes, the Vice-Chancellor holds office for such period,
and on such conditions, as the Council determines.
