AUSTRALIAN MARITIME SAFETY AUTHORITY ACT 1990 No. 78 of 1990 - SECT 49

49. (1) There is to be a Chief Executive Officer of the Authority, who is to
be appointed by the Minister after receiving a recommendation from the
Authority.

(2) Subject to this Part, a person appointed as Chief Executive Officer holds
office for the period, not exceeding 5 years, specified in the instrument of
appointment, but is eligible for re-appointment.

(3) The Chief Executive Officer is, under the Authority, to manage the
Authority.

(4) Anything done in the name of, or on behalf of, the Authority by the Chief
Executive Officer is to be taken to have been done by the Authority.
