AUSTRALIAN MARITIME SAFETY AUTHORITY ACT 1990 No. 78 of 1990 - SECT 19

Disclosure of interests
19. (1) A member who has a direct or indirect pecuniary interest in a matter
being considered by the Authority must, as soon as possible after the relevant
facts have come to the member's knowledge, disclose the nature of the interest
at a meeting of the Authority.

(2) A disclosure must be recorded in the minutes of the meeting and the member
must not, unless the Minister or the Authority otherwise determines:

   (a)  be present during any deliberation of the Authority with respect to
        that matter; or

   (b)  take part in any decision of the Authority with respect to that
        matter.

(3) For the purpose of making such a determination by the Authority in
relation to a member who has made a disclosure, a member who has a direct or
indirect pecuniary interest in the matter to which the disclosure relates must
not:

   (a)  be present during any deliberation of the Authority for the purpose of
        making the determination; or

   (b)  take part in making the determination.
