AUSTRALIAN LAW REFORM COMMISSION ACT 1996 No. 37, 1996 - SECT 46

46 Purchase and disposal of assets
The Commission must not, without the Attorney-General's approval:

   (a)  acquire any property, right or privilege for a consideration that is
        more than $250,000 in amount or value or, if a higher amount is
        prescribed, the higher amount; or

   (b)  dispose of any property, right or privilege if the amount or value of
        the consideration for the disposal, or the value of the property,
        right or privilege, is more than $250,000 or, if a higher amount is
        prescribed, the higher amount; or

   (c)  enter into a contract for the construction of a building for the
        Commission under which the Commission is to pay an amount of more than
        $250,000 or, if a higher amount is prescribed, the higher amount; or

   (d)  enter into a lease of land for longer than 10 years.
