AUSTRALIAN LAW REFORM COMMISSION ACT 1996 No. 37, 1996 - SECT 11
11 Arrangements for appointment of State and Territory judges
(1) The Governor-General may, for the purposes of appointing a judge of the
Supreme Court of a State as a member, enter into any necessary arrangement
with the Governor of the State.
(2) The Attorney-General may, for the purposes of the appointment of a judge
of the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory or of the Northern
Territory as a member, enter into any necessary arrangement with the Chief
Minister of the relevant Territory.
(3) An arrangement may provide, among other things, for the Commonwealth to
reimburse the State or Territory with respect to the services of the person to
be appointed.
