AUSTRALIAN HORTICULTURAL CORPORATION ACT 1987 No. 164 of 1987 - SECT 9

Powers
9. (1) The Corporation has power to do all things necessary or convenient to
be done for, or in connection with, the performance of its functions and, in
particular, may:

   (a)  negotiate contracts for the carriage of horticultural products to be
        exported from Australia (including the carriage of such products
        within Australia);

   (b)  negotiate insurance contracts in relation to horticultural products;

   (c)  obtain and disseminate market intelligence;

   (d)  collect and publish statistics in relation to horticultural products;

   (e)  make charges for work done, services rendered, and goods and
        information supplied, by it;

   (f)  with the written approval of the Minister:

        (i)    form, and participate in the formation of, companies;

        (ii)   subscribe for and purchase shares in, and debentures and other
               securities of, companies;

        (iii)  enter into partnerships; and

        (iv)   participate in joint ventures and arrangements for the sharing
               of profits;

   (g)  enter into contracts;

   (h)  appoint agents and attorneys, and act as an agent for other persons;

   (j)  accept gifts, grants, bequests and devises made to it, and act as
        trustee of money and other property vested in it on trust;

   (k)  do such other things as it is authorised to do by or under this Act or
        any other Act; and

   (m)  do anything incidental to any of its powers.

(2) An approval under paragraph (1) (f):

   (a)  may be of general or particular application; and

   (b)  may be given subject to specified conditions and restrictions.
