AUSTRALIAN HERITAGE COMMISSION ACT 1975 No. 57 of 1975 - SECT 44

44. (1) For the purposes of sub-section 11 (1) of the Environment Protection
Act, a matter relating to the national estate shall be taken to be a matter in
respect of which the Minister administering that Act may, under that
sub-section, direct that an inquiry be conducted.

(2) The Commission may request the Minister administering the Environment
Protection Act to direct, under sub-section 11 (1) of that Act, that an
inquiry be conducted in respect of a specified matter relating to the national
estate.

(3) For the purposes of this section, the question whether or not any place
should be recorded, or continue to be recorded, as part of the national estate
is a matter relating to the national estate.
