AUSTRALIAN HERITAGE COMMISSION ACT 1975 No. 57 of 1975 - SECT 13

13. (1) Subject to this Act, a Commissioner, other than a representative
Commissioner, holds office for such period, being not more than 3 years, as
the Governor-General specifies in the instrument of his appointment, but is
eligible for re-appointment.

(2) A person shall not hold office under sub-section (1) for a continuous
period exceeding 6 years.

(3) A person who has held office under sub-section (1) for a continuous period
of 6 years is not eligible for re-appointment for a term of office commencing
within 12 months after the expiration of that period.

(4) A representative Commissioner holds office during the pleasure of the
Governor-General.
