AUSTRALIAN FEDERAL POLICE ACT 1979 No. 58 of 1979 - SECT 16

16. (1) The staff, other than members of the Australian Federal Police,
required for the purposes of this Act shall be persons appointed or employed
under the Public Service Act 1922.

(2) In relation to the members of the staff referred to in sub-section (1),
the Commissioner-

   (a)  may give such directions with respect to the performance of their
        duties as he thinks fit;

   (b)  has all the powers of a Chief Officer under the Public Service Act
        1922 in respect of the granting of leave of absence; and

   (c)  has such of the other powers of a Chief Officer under that Act as are
        prescribed.
