ABORIGINAL DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION ACT 1980 No. 34 of 1980 - SECT 19
Meetings
19.(1) The Commission shall hold such meetings as are necessary for the
purposes of its functions.
(2) The Chairman or, if the Chairman is not available, the Deputy Chairman may
at any time convene a meeting of the Commission.
(3) Where the Minister requests the Chairman or Deputy Chairman to do so, the
Chairman or Deputy Chairman, as the case may be, shall forthwith convene a
meeting of the Commission.
(4) At a meeting of the Commission, 6 members constitute a quorum.
(5) The Chairman shall preside at all meetings of the Commission at which he
is present.
(6) If the Chairman is not present at a meeting of the Commission but the
Deputy Chairman is present at the meeting, the Deputy Chairman shall preside
at the meeting.
(7) If neither the Chairman nor the Deputy Chairman is present at a meeting of
the Commission, the members present shall elect one of their number to preside
at the meeting.
(8) Questions arising at a meeting of the Commission shall be determined by a
majority of the votes of the members present and voting.
(9) The member presiding at a meeting of the Commission has a deliberative
vote and, in the event of an equality of votes, also has a casting vote.
(10) In this section, a reference to the Chairman or the Deputy Chairman
shall, if there is a person acting in the office of Chairman or Deputy
Chairman, as the case may be, be read as a reference to the person so acting.
