ABORIGINAL COUNCILS AND ASSOCIATIONS ACT 1976 No. 186 of 1976 - SECT 51
Power to borrow money and give securities.
51. An Incorporated Aboriginal Association may, subject to this Act and to the
Rules of the Association-
(a) raise or borrow money upon such terms, and in such manner, as it
thinks fit; and
(b) secure the repayment of money so raised or borrowed, or the payment of
a debt or liability of the Association, by giving mortgages, charges
or other securities upon or over all or any of the property of the
Association, not being an estate or interest in land that is not a
disposable estate or interest.
