Provision of transmitting stations and technical equipment

74. (1) Where, immediately before the commencing day, a transmitting station
was provided by the Commonwealth for use in connection with the performance of
the functions of the Australian Broadcasting Commission, that transmitting
station shall be provided by the Commonwealth on and after that day for use in
connection with the performance of the functions of the Corporation.

(2) Where a new transmitting station is to be provided on or after the
commencing day for use in connection with the performance of the functions of
the Corporation, that transmitting station shall be provided by the
Commonwealth.

(3) Sub-sections (1) and (2) have effect subject to section 75.

(4) The Corporation shall provide, operate and maintain all technical
equipment necessary to connect a studio of the Corporation to the local
broadcasting or television transmitting station.

(5) Where a transmitting station used in connection with the performance of
the functions of the Corporation is situated on land owned or controlled by
the Commonwealth or an authority of the Commonwealth, the Corporation or any
servant or agent of the Corporation is entitled to reasonable access to the
land for the purpose of operating or maintaining the relevant transmitter.
