ABORIGINAL AND TORRES STRAIT ISLANDER COMMISSION ACT 1989 No. 150 of 1989 - SECT 131

131. (1) The members of the Regional Councils of the regions included in a
zone shall elect one of their number to represent the zone.

(2) A person whose appointment as the Commissioner representing a zone has
been terminated by the Minister:

   (a)  under subsection 40 (4) because of misbehaviour; or

   (b)  under section 41; is not eligible to stand for election at the next
        election under subsection (1) for a person to represent the zone.
