ABORIGINAL AND TORRES STRAIT ISLANDER COMMISSION ACT 1989 No. 150 of 1989 - SECT 117

117. Persons elected, or declared to have been elected, as members of a
Regional Council:

   (a)  take office as members at the end of the election period concerned;
        and

   (b)  hold office, subject to this Part, until the end of the next election
        period.
