NAVIGATION (CONSTRUCTION) REGULATIONS 1968 - REG 79
Emergency bilge suction
Where, in the opinion of a naval architect, the main circulating pump is not
suitable for fitting in accordance with the last preceding regulation:
- (a)
- a direct emergency bilge suction shall be led from the largest available
independent power driven pump to the drainage level of the machinery space;
- (b)
- the diameter of the suction shall be equal to the diameter of the main
inlet of the pump referred to in the last preceding paragraph; and
- (c)
- the
pump shall have such capacity, not being a capacity less than the capacity
specified in subregulation (1) of regulation 74 of these Regulations, as the
Authority approves.
