NAVIGATION (CONSTRUCTION) REGULATIONS 1968 - REG 159
Windows etc in accommodation spaces
- (1)
- The glass in a window or side scuttle in a bulkhead separating
accommodation spaces from the weather shall have a frame of steel or other
approved material in which the glass is retained by a metal ring or bead.
- (2)
- If a window or side scuttle referred to in the last preceding
subregulation is so situated that, if the frame or the ring or bead were to
fuse, the ship would be in danger of being flooded, the frame and the ring or
bead, as the case may be, shall be constructed of metal which is not likely to
fuse in the event of fire.
- (3)
- A window or side scuttle in a ship, being a window or side scuttle in a
bulkhead within an accommodation space, shall be so constructed as to preserve
the integrity requirements of the bulkhead in which it is fitted.
