DEFENCE FORCES RETIREMENT BENEFITS REGULATIONS - REG 18

(1)

The provisions of the Act shall apply to and in respect of any person who:

(a)

was a rating in the Permanent Naval Forces prior to 3 September 1939;

(b)

was subsequently, without a break in the continuity of his service, appointed an officer for temporary service in the Permanent Naval Forces; and

(c)

was subsequently, without a break in the continuity of his service, appointed an officer of the Permanent Naval Forces.

(2)

The continuous full-time service as an officer appointed for temporary service in the Permanent Naval Forces of a person to whom subregulation (1) applies shall be deemed to be service for pension for the purposes of the Act.
