CURRENCY REGULATIONS - REG 3
Weight, dimensions and remedy of coins
- (1)
- Subject to subregulation (1A), in respect of a coin of the denomination
specified in Column 2 of an item in the Schedule, being a coin of the standard
composition specified in Column 3 of that item:
- (a)
- the standard weight
specified in Column 4 of that item is prescribed;
- (b)
- dimensions in respect
of diameter and thickness not exceeding the dimensions in respect of diameter
and thickness specified in Columns 5 and 6 respectively of that item are
prescribed; and
- (c)
- the remedy in respect of weight specified in Column 7 of
that item is prescribed.
- (1A)
- The standard weight, dimensions and remedy in respect of weight specified
in item 20 in the Schedule are prescribed only in respect of a coin bearing,
on the reverse side, a design prescribed by sub-subparagraph 4 (d)
- (viiiEC)
- (B) or 4 (d) (viiiED) (B).
- (2)
- In this regulation, diameter means:
- (a)
- in the case of a coin of the
denomination of 50 cents the shortest diameter of the coin; and
- (b)
- in the case of a coin of any other denomination the diameter
of the coin.
