CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY REGULATIONS 1998 - REG 61.887
Removal of instrument rating conditions about acting as pilot in command under IFR(1) This regulation applies to the holder of an instrument rating granted on the basis of regulation 202.272 or 202.274 if the rating is subject to the condition that the holder is not authorised to act as pilot in command under the IFR.
(2) CASA must remove the condition, to the extent that it relates to a particular aircraft category or class, if:
(a) the holder applies to CASA for the removal of the condition; and
(b) the holder meets the requirements under this Part for the grant of:
(i) an instrument rating; and
(ii) an instrument endorsement that would authorise the holder
to pilot an aircraft of that category or class under the IFR.
