"JPDA" means the Joint Petroleum Development Area established in Article 3 of the Treaty.

"Petroleum Mining Code" means the Code referred to in Article 7 of the Treaty (including the interim code referred to in paragraph 7(b) of the Treaty).

"Treaty":

(a) means the Timor Sea Treaty between Australia and East Timor done on 20 May 2002, being the Treaty the text of which is set out in Schedule 1; and (b) includes that Treaty as amended from time to time. (2) Unless the contrary intention appears, a word or an expression that is defined in the Treaty has, when used in this Act, the same meaning as in the Treaty.
