Commencement [see Note 1]

             (1)  Subject to subsection (2), this Act commences on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.

             (2)  Section 9, subsections 26(2), 31(2), 36(2) and 39(2), Part 3, section 156 and Schedule 1 commence on 1 July 1990.
