NATIVE TITLE ACT 1993 - SECT 180
Protection of members and persons giving evidence(1) A member has, in the performance of his or her duties as a member, the same protection and immunity as a Justice of the High Court.
(1A) A person engaged under subsection 131A(1) as a consultant has, in performing duties under the engagement, the same protection and immunity as a Justice of the High Court.
(2) A barrister, solicitor or other person appearing before the Tribunal on behalf of a party has the same protection and immunity as a barrister has in appearing for a party in proceedings in the High Court.
(3) Subject to this Part, a person summoned to attend, or
appearing, before the Tribunal to give evidence has the same protection, and
is, in addition to the penalties provided by this Act, subject to the same
liabilities, as a witness in proceedings in the High Court.
