NATIONAL LIBRARY ACT 1960 - SECT 15
Vacation of office
- (1)
- If a member other than the Director-General:
- (a)
- becomes bankrupt,
applies to take the benefit of any law for the relief of bankrupt or insolvent
debtors, compounds with his or her creditors or makes an assignment of his or
her remuneration for their benefit;
- (c)
- in the case of a member elected by
either House of the Parliamentceases to be a member of that House;
- (d)
- is absent, except on leave granted by the Council, from 3 consecutive
meetings of the Council; or
- (e)
- fails, without reasonable excuse, to comply
with his or her obligations under section 27F or 27J of the Commonwealth
Authorities and Companies Act 1997 ;
the Governor-General shall terminate the appointment of the member.
- (2)
- For
the purposes of paragraph (1)(c), a member of either House of the Parliament
shall be deemed not to have ceased to be a member of that House while he or
she continues to be entitled to the Parliamentary allowance that became
payable to him or her as such a member.
